Everyone knows getting married isn't cheap or stress free, but you don't have to break the bank or have a nervous breakdown to make your wedding look great. DIY weddings are a great way to save money, but your time is also precious, so it's about working out what you can make yourself and what wedding supplies are better to buy. There's no point spending a whole day making something that only costs £20, so make sure you get the balance right. I've done a lot of research into working out our DIY wedding budget and making sure we use our money and time wisely. I completely understand why people use wedding planners and get a team in to decorate their weddings for them, but we wanted to do a lot of the wedding planning, decor and food ourselves. But you do have to draw the line somewhere, don't let it get you too stressed out and try to enjoy the whole process. So whilst we are still having a DIY wedding, we are also buying some wedding supplies so we don't have to make everything ourselves. Items such as wedding table confetti are a no brainer and at less than £5 per pack, it would be crazy to make it yourself. There are some really beautiful wedding decorations about especially if you've opted for a vintage, boho or rustic style wedding. We have 100 day guests and making 100 of anything is both fiddly and time consuming and to be honest our craft skills are not great, so we've decided to buy in a lot of the wedding table items. Also once you've bought all the materials and the glue and the equipment, it really doesn't save you that much on some items and don't always look as good as the ones you can buy. So it's really about working out what's important to you, in terms of your time and of course your money. So after working out what kind of wedding table we wanted, I found the biggest savings can be made on the table and food decorations. I've also included my favourite wedding photo booth props in this list as I've spent a lot of time and money creating a photo booth for a friend's wedding from scratch and I wish I'd known about these photo booth prop kits at the time! Gold Glitter Wedding Table Numbers 1-12 These gold glitter wedding table numbers are a wonderful way to show your wedding guests which table they will be sitting at. They add a touch of sparkle and kitsch glamour to any wedding table and are fun at the same time. Rustic 'Photo Booth' Card Wedding Bunting Kit This one would look great hanging on the outside of the both. It comes as a kit so is partly DIY, but requires little skill to put together. You will receive 12 A5 size card flags with pre-punched holes including the letters to spell out 'PHOTO BOOTH' and 2 lace effect heart designs printed on the other 2 flags so they can hang either side of the letters.
